PRIVATE HARRY HAYES

Harry Hayes was born in Beighton Derbyshire in the Parish of Eckington, in 1896 to Henry and Ruth Hayes.  He lived on Mosbro Moor with his brothers Frank, sisters Annie and Ruth, and also his Grand mother Sarah Hayes.  According to the 1911 Census Harry aged 24 lived at 8 Station Road Mosbro, he worked as a coal miner since the age of 14 years.

 

     

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Derbyshire, he was a Coal Miner Under ground worker.  Frank aged 16 and Raith aged 13 lived with him and his parents.

Harry was Formerly in 16133 11th Notts and Derby Regt then went into 1st Battalion Connaught Rangers Regimental no. 6533.    Died on 11 July 1917  Mesopotamia.
