Harry Hayes was born in 1892 at Lincoln to Joseph and Annie Hayes, according to 1901 census, Harry was aged 9 years old. Harry had two sisters Ethel and Agnes Hayes.
Harry enlisted in Lincoln into the 17th Battalion Notts and Derby (Sherwood Foresters) Regiment. His Regimental No was 70002, formerly 5363 Lincolnshire Regiment. He died of wounds on 10 October 1916 in France and Flanders.
Harry was awarded the Victory Medal and The British War Medal.
