PRIVATE HARRY PEARSON

Harry Pearson was born to Arthur and Emily Pearson in 1895, he lived at Woodhouse Yorkshire with his parents and sister Clara Pearson, this is according to the 1901 census below.  Harry is one of the 49 heroes whose name is on the Cenotaph in St Marks Church yard.

 

   

 

The 1911 census shows that Harry isn’t on the census form below but the family is living at Rose Hill Mosborough.  Harry is 16 years of age at this time.

 

Harry enlisted in Sheffield at the age of 19, into the 7th Service Battalion, South Staffordshire Regiment, is regimental number was 38071.  He was killed in action on 10 Oct 1918 at France and Flanders.  He was buried at Naves Communal Cemetery Extension Nord France.

 

Harry was awarded the Victory Medal and the British War Medal.
