George was born to Thomas and Sarah Stone, he was born in 1879. In the 1881 Census George aged 2 years lived with his parents at Common Side Belper Derbyshire. 1891 Census showed George at his grandparents in Belper.
In the 1911 Census George was a Boarder at Henry Yeomans’ home at Marsh Lane Belper, George was a filler below ground.
George enlisted into the Notts and Derby (Sherwood Foresters) Regiment, his regimental no was 6992. George was killed in Action on 27 March 1918 in France. George was buried at London Cemetery Neuville-Vitasse, France.
