I was born at 4 Stone Street, Mosborough, on 1 May 1916.  From 5 years old I attended Mosborough Church School, which later changed to Mosborough Endowed School. On my first day we were given a shoe box to keep pens, pencils etc in, and we used slate when I first started at school. One of my first memories of school is our art classes : always fun but not one of my strengths. We had to draw an orange in one of our first classes, mine was not very good!

I attended St Mark’s Church which my Grandfather, Joseph Harold Keeton, was one of the stonemasons who built the church, and my Uncle Harold Keeton was the first baby christened in the church once it was completed.

I enjoyed returning last September, 2016, when I was asked to open the Mosborough History Meeting’s Group event and was very touched by your kindness, and appreciate your best wishes for my 101st birthday on 1 May 2017.
