Linda Taylor (nee Staton) – Treasurer

Founding member

Linda Taylor (nee Staton) Treasurer and is a founding member of Mosborough History Meeting Group. I was born in Derbyshire but raised on High Street, Mosborough. I lived with her brother, Philip who is the Chairman of Mosborough History Meeting Group, one other brother, a sister and her Uncle Sam. Linda’s parents, along with her Uncle Sam, ran the local Newsagent, a business which remained in the family for over 100 years.  On leaving school I started work in Sheffield doing office work, then worked at Joseph Glovers at Killamarsh on the reception there, plus I was always helping in the shop with either serving customers or delivering newspapers.  After getting married I moved to Sheffield and raised a family, and I worked for the Sheffield City Council for over 35 years in various departments over the Council.

I  moved back to Mosborough in 2011.  On retiring I started the Mosborough History Group Facebook page with Philip in 2015 before progressing the group and started up a Mosborough History Meeting Group in 2016.  I’ve made many discoveries of history within Mosborough and within my family since I first started researching it.  I have helped type up the Census for Mosborough and I have traced my family back to the 1570’s.
