Frederick was born in Eckington Derbyshire in 1892, he was born to Griffin and Ann Hayes. At this time he lived at 30 Arkland Road Eckington, Derbyshire. By the time he was 19 he lived at 86 South Street Mosborough.
He enlisted into the 10th Battalion Royal Fusiliers, Regimental No 48867 Formerly 1408, 17th Royal Fusiliers. He died on 6 October 1917 and was buried at Bailleul Communal Cemetery Extension, Nord. France. Plot III.E.120 Memorial ID 56329124.
Inscription says: “NEVER FORGOTTEN”
Frederick was awarded the Victory Medal and the British War Medal.
